RRPS Maintains High Graduation Rates, Expectations
The numbers for the Class of 2014 are in, and in a year where state graduation rates dropped, RRPS's graduation rate rose slightly even as the district maintained its rigorous academic expectations. RRPS has the highest graduation rate in the state for large school districts. Congratulations to our students and teachers!

Presentation on Brain Research Related to Stress and Testing
Greetings Parents,
You’re invited to attend a presentation on Brain Research related to Stress and Testing on February 25th from 5:30-7:00PM in the Rio Rancho High School Media Center. Recent research suggests America’s weight gain may be related to stress! Stress is much more interesting to learn about than what our parents realized. Did you know that stress erases knowledge? Did you know that the lower positions in a company have more stress than the higher positions? This workshop will not only give suggestions for maintaining less stress and tricks to decrease test anxiety but will also  reviews how the brain works and why too much stress can kill- literally.
One of our veteran staff, Shelly Harrington,  has been studying brain research through attending worldwide expert presentations and book reading since 2005. She will share her passion for brain research and  present the first of three workshops on February 24th . She has presented at Albuquerque Public Schools and NM Highlands University.  Please rsvp to: or call  896-5600 ext.#53262 if you are interested in attending. Thank you!
RRHS Graduate Needs Your Help!
Stephanie von Ancken, a RRHS 2009 graduate, has spent the last 9 months living and working in Granada, Nicaragua. She did an internship in marketing and outreach for a non-profit organization called Casa Xalteva. Their non-profit model is unique in that it is a Spanish language school for foreigners whose profits fund an after and before school program for at-risk local youth. She is raising money to build a new kitchen to provide the children breakfast and lunch. The current kitchen is worn out and slow. This has created a dilemma since lunch can't be prepared in time for the children to make it to school in the afternoon. If they are late the school closes their doors and students are marked absent. Too many absences lead to the child being forced to drop out. Thankfully, there is a simple solution to keeping the children in school and you can help! They need new kitchen appliances and a larger refrigerator to store enough food for the week! Please share this link with your friends and family who may be interested! Also, if you would like to donate, here is a short video of the school that you can view: Thank you Ram Nation for you support!
Parents, students and families of the incoming CLASS OF 2019 are invited to join us for a special evening introducing them to their high school. After a brief opening ceremony, visitors are invited to the ACTIVTIES EXPO in the Cafeteria, where they can learn about some of the academic, athletic and activity programs available to RRHS students.
